BEC locations has been ticking away in the background a little while now, but now we aim to give it some spotlight. At BEC we love all things property and design and are always on the look out for a variety of different, wonderful and classic shoot locations. keep a look out for our next locations coming soon!

We recently had the opportunity to speak down with Jennie, the owner of the stunning location; The Grange. The Grange, which opened its doors just 6 months ago, is already making waves in the location shooting industry. As a newcomer to the scene, this stunning period property offers versatile spaces that cater to both intimate photo sessions and larger production needs. With its blend of classic architectural features and modern amenities, The Grange provides endless creative possibilities for photographers and production teams alike.

Q. Hi Jennie! You have a beautiful property. Could we ask what the inspiration was behind the architecture and design of your property.

Our house is Edwardian and when we moved in the decor was tired, dated and there was a lot of structural work we needed to do.  We were very keen to restore it sympathetically so that it was in keeping with the period, but we wanted a luxury, sophisticated feel that wasn't overly modern but still high end.

Q: What inspired you to open a photoshoot location?

We have a big, old house steeped in history and we felt we wanted to share it with others.  It has a rich history, it's been a rehabilitation home for soldiers in the war, a school for boys, a care home and so it's always been shared.  We felt like it was a shame just to keep it to ourselves!

Q: What makes The Grange unique?

The size of the properly is pretty unique.  With 12,500 sq feet over 4 floors there are a lot of possibilities and opportunity for content as well as 3 acres of grounds.  We've kept the stunning period features such as the ceilings and fireplaces and married that with modern, sophisticated elegance so no matter what you are looking for we can probably cover it.  We also have unusual features such as a fire escape that spans the height of the house which looks like you are in a New York apartment block!  Having a basement that crews can have for their sole use with a kitchen, games room and sitting area makes it a nice environment to be in as well.

Q: What advice would you give to models or photographers looking to book a location?

Be really clear on what the purpose of what you are doing is and your target audience and then work backwards.  Also think about how you can make your content unique, different and standout.  Think about things such as logistics as well, if there is no parking and access is limited it is going to make the day much more stressful.  We've had really big shoots here and it is never a problem as there is a lot of parking, areas for products and no one is on top of each other meaning the best content can be captured.

Q: How has the industry changed since you opened The Grange up to the industry?

We are only 6 months into our journey so we will be able to answer that soon!

 Q. Any exciting plans for the future of The Grange?

We are finishing the renovation of our 2 reception rooms in January which will bring an end to our renovation journey which we are very excited about.  The rooms are huge so it's a lot of work, but we love doing it so we cannot wait to see the finished result.
